Super Chill Indie Pop of WEEKENDERS

The Weekenders bring their super chill brand of indie pop to the stage at The Espy this Friday for round one

Self-described as euphoric, upbeat and catchy, the music of Melbourne group the Weekenders features bouncy rhythm sections, male-female vocal harmonies, acoustic guitar and even ukulele. They offer the perfect mix of groove and melody, making their songs stick in your head from the very first listen. Go to the band’s Soundcloud page to check out the upbeat “Stalker Song” which could be the soundtrack to a 90’s teenybopper film. Or “So Long” which shows off the band’s more mature, melancholy side with thoughtful vocal harmonies. The unassuming approach to the male vocals and the breathy—almost Florence Welch inspired—female vocals will definitely win you over. The Weekenders are used to rocking out at house parties in the Melbourne area and are now getting ready to make their stage debut. Check them out when they go on at The Espy for round one of Emergenza Festival Australia this Friday, May 9th. More details on the show here.
