    TOP STORIES
Cheap Fakes are a six piece band from Brisbane that are not limited by genres or styles. Predominantly steeped in off-beat guitars and catchy melodies the band combine their eclectic tastes and flavours to include funk, dub, reggae, country, rock and dance to create music that is engaging, uplifting and most importantly great to groove to.

Cheap Fakes burst on the music scene with an impressive array of gigs in the first few months of their conception in late September 2009. The band has already proved to be one of Brisbane’s most diverse live acts, having become local party favourites at venues such as Lock ‘n’ Load and at the same time securing long term residencies at Conrad Treasury Premier’s Bar and Jupiters Casino Poolside.

Although Cheap Fakes are relatively new to the Brisbane music scene, the individual members of the group possess years of professional performance experience. Singer/songwriter Hayden Andrews fronted Brisbane band Dubdoubt for seven years, with career credentials including two EP's and a full length album, a national distribution deal, two international tours, numerous national tours and performances at major events/festivals including Good Vibrations, Parklife, Big Day Out, Woodford Folk Festival, Island Vibe, Peats Ridge, Brisbane Festival Spiegeltent and Valley Fiesta to name a few.

With their debut album due for release mid 2010, expect to hear a lot of Cheap Fakes unique and intriguing sound as they embark on a year of regular gigs, national and international touring that is all set to make Cheap Fakes one of Brisbane's most distinguished and dynamic live acts.
