    TOP STORIES
Darkness and light come together through Cleveland's Irreality to create a new facet of rock music. Powered by such influences as Opeth, Tool and Incubus, heavy guitar riffs written by Nick Party intertwine with the intricate rhythms of percussionist Mike Yencha. Nate Lynch weaves deceptively blithe-sounding lyrics punctuated by the funky bass sounds of Mike Ballou. The resulting sound is like placing today's rock music under a kaleidoscope-the familiar palette becomes a multitude of new facets, the whole of which is more radiant then that from which it was born. Irreality has been playing Claveland area venues since 2002. They have played at legendary clubs like Peabody's Down Under, the Odeon and the Agora, in addition to hip hotspots like the Hi-Fi and the Phantasy. Audiences of every construct have found the band to resonate with them, and have been drawn to listen regardless of their preference in music. In 2004, Irreality won the audience-driven Battle of the Bands sponsored by the Hard Rock Cafe and went on the represent Cleveland in the national competition to play at the Rolling Rock Town Fair. As their first recording effort, Irreality produced a self-titled 6-song EP in 2005. The EP features the dark rock ballad "Through My Skin" and the punching single "Unfortunate".
