    TOP STORIES
In the summer of 2005, a group of individuals came together in a small apartment in Hollywood with the purpose of forming a band. Each of these individuals, though differing in background, race, culture or creed, shared one overriding similarity: a love and appreciation for music. At this apartment, these persons were either armed with a musical instrument or a microphone, partaking in a jam session which would become the beginning of the formation of DDL Roundhouse.

DDL Roundhouse is an 8 person Los Angeles-based hip hop live band whose music conveys each of its individuals’ personalities and passions, invoking many musical stylings such as hip hop, rock, blues, funk and jazz. Its combination of multiple genres to form its own blend of MJ (musical jenius) is evident in every song. Each track is the band’s appreciation for what has come before them, as well as a mark of its own originality.

Though remaining nameless for almost a year after the band’s formation, it finally decided on the moniker DDL Roundhouse as a testament to the fact that they aim to hit hard. Taken from Street Fighter II, the name is an abbreviation for the motion and buttons needed to be performed to execute Ryu and Ken’s Hurricane Kick. Whether it be on the groove-inducing “Martini” or the head-nodding sensibilities of “Ain’t The One,” each song hits (or kicks) its listeners with intensity and power.

Comprised of Justin (guitar/vocals), Mike (vocals), Chris (vocals), Rob (drums), Jason (keys), Kris (bass/vocals), Barry (turntables) and Samantha (vocals), DDL Roundhouse has one goal: to share with the rest of the world their own brand of the one universal language - music. Whether playing for a crowd of 1 or 1,000, or even in a studio to cater to the masses listening in their cars or iPods, DDL Roundhouse hopes that every note played and every word said or sung will leave a lasting impression to its listeners.

Already armed with a contingent of fans, DDL Roundhouse aims to bring their sound to anyone willing to listen.
