"just wanted to say Hi and let you know that we are off to what I think is a great start. Vin has been a pleasure to work with and charles is doing a great job on stage and we at The Hook are ready to sign up for next year- only we want to do 500++ bands

"We have hosted the Emergenza Unsigned event for the last 3 years, and over those three years the Emergenza final is an eagerly awaited event. The organisation, promotion, and PR, is comparable to that of the entire international artist who perform here. The musical prizes, placements in festivals, the endorsements and performing to 2000 people - It is hard to find anything bad about the event"
Chris Smith general manager - London Astoria

Gianluca Di Pietro MC - Links

"We were very skeptical of the potential and success of the event prior to witnessing it at the Bristol Carling Academy. What stood out initially was the professionalism of the organisation, which is rarely the case. Once the event began it was refreshing to see the Academy full for local unsigned acts. The event proved so successful that in 2005 we will be working with Emergenza - Jar Music to give the best bands the opportunity to support some of the international acts and events hosted at the Carling Academy across the UK. This is an event, which is truly creating a pathway for bands to surface to the top."

"The level of young talent at this final was astounding and the standard and level of musicianship was very high indeed. SABIAN are certainly very proud to be involved with Emergenza - having events like this is what drives both the music industry and musical instrument industry - it truly is inspiring!!!""
Jerome Marcus -

"This event is the best I have witnessed so far. There were a multitude of backgrounds and ages yet all of them talented, committed, technically masterful and full of drive... The display of genres was immense. Everything from drum 'n' bass and 70s/80s metal, to current revival movements such as electro rock and pure Indie... the future of new music has frankly never looked better."
Robin White - EMI Music

"Roastinghouse Productions AB are proud to be a part of Emergenza as a main sponsor. This is one of the greatest events for unsigned and upcoming bands to take part of. Emergenza doesn’t only provide live concerts, they provide a “how it works and what it takes” with their initiative and know how with this festival. I’m confident that the winning band will be a band that is ready for the big market and I’m looking forward to work with them on their album. Emergenza is also a perfect forum for independent companies and A&R’s to be able to check out so many bands at one place, says “MD/Producer” Anders “Theo” Theander at Roastinghouse."

"We take care of promotion through a network of companies across the U.S.A. We also have to teach bands and artists how to work hard for themselves basically when it comes to promotion. They can learn a lot through companies like ours and Emergenza."
David Avery founder and president - Powderfinger Promotions

"I tried to make them a mix of hard-core and elegance. That’s what makes them really unique. Emergenza is “a great thing”. It gives the "underdog" a chance.
It is an awesome event and should continue to keep growing."
Joshua Huber Jesse guitar designer - Ernie Ball

"A problem for bands nowadays is that they don’t have anywhere to play. The consequence is that they don’t even need a guitar! That’s why I am really happy to be involved with Emergenza. The organisation is out there for anyone who wants to play live. Playing live means a lot of practise, a lot of planning, getting some great experience for life, even if you don’t continue playing as you get older."
Sterling Ball CEO - Ernie Ball

"This festival has the type of approach and organization that creates the right conditions to stimulate live music. Many people go to live concerts. The band's friends, the bands themselves, not only to play but also to listen to the others, and in general the many people that love live music. Maybe in this way we will be able to pull people away from videogames and their cellular phones for a while. A festival like Emergenza allows us to let many young musicians be seen and try out new material, many times more powerful than that listened to in rehearsal halls or in one's own bedroom."
Patrick Schuleit Intl Sales Director - St Louis Music

"The cooperation between Emergenza and MAPEX is very positive because Emergenza is helping to pull musicians together to create music, and MAPEX is wholeheartedly in support of that. Since MAPEX supports various school rock music clubs and several community musical activities, it’s makes sense to support Emergenza with the equipment they need too. In this way Emergenza helps MAPEX to promote the brand name that is so well-known by musicians."
Daniel Yen product manager - Mapex

"About 6 years ago Musik Meyer became acquainted with some people from Emergenza (Andrea Petricca). During that first conversation, I recognized the incredible opportunity for a different kind of Marketing for our products. The basic idea was born! “Send musicians up on stage, let them play their hearts out for the chance to continue on the road to success!” I liked the idea! Yes, these were our visions! And we’ve made them into a reality! When I was talking to some of our partners about Emergenza, it was actually an easy decision. They wanted to be a part of the biggest Newcomer Festival. Many times I’m part of the Jury or I present the awards to the best musicians. It’s such a fantastic feeling to see young musicians receive their prizes, you can see it in their eyes: “Man, I really did it, I made the first step, it was really worth it!” All I can say is, “What an incredible feeling”!
If I like the concept...? It’s the best I’ve ever seen! To all the critics out there - Just come to an Emergenza event and you’ll be blown away by how professional this Festival is!"
Jürgen Klier creative & art director - Musik Meyer

"I saw Emergenza in action in Montreal, and it was incredible. All the bands and the audience had an unbelievably good time. I think that even though someone wins the #1 prize, everyone is a winner. SABIAN and Emergenza are like brothers doing the same thing in different areas: Emergenza for bands, Sabian for drummers. We both want to make music exciting for the players. Together we can also excite the music industry, so it will become more involved with the festival and the musicians who are competing. Together, and with the participation of the players, we can make this happen."
Wayne Blanchard marketing manager - Sabian
- Canada

"I realized the amazing potential that lies within the festival, and also the fact that it was still unexploited by the industry. An A&R, or even a team of scouts, couldn’t see and evaluate so many good bands all at once. And of course, there´s no other competition that compares size-wise. I know there are people complaining that Emergenza bands have to motivate their friends to come, and do a lot of the promotional work, etc. But to us, it’s an important factor. You might play well, but if you attract only your girlfriend and your brother, then you´re not ready to sign a major deal. Working the local scene, building a fan-base, taking over some of the responsibilities of marketing and promotion, we expect a band to bring all of this when they come to us."

"Well....it's over and done with and I would have to say that all of here at 89X were WICKED impressed by this amazing event! We had so much fun doing it and can't wait for next year. I totally enjoyed being at the event and hearing some amazing LIVE music! Walter....can you even believe those High School kids? They were great for a group of brats from my neighborhood...ha ha....and how funny...all of their parents were there! We were so excited to just be a part of it all and can't thank you enough for all that you have done for us. "

"This is far from a one dimensional event where you play many heats at the same venue, in the same town, run by in house promoters where at the end you get 1/2 a day in the studio. Emergenza is an industry-recognized name under which the all the major music manufacturer, media companies operate, to closely view new potential bands. No cash sponsorships are accepted as this may influence the event and take away the raw essence of it, which is to get bands to play their original music without conforming to a more ‘pop’ular format. Evidence of this is the Emergenza 2004 investment into improving the event such as creating more opportunities for bands to get noticed. Some of these include the Best Tour which covers 14 European and US cities, the collaboration with Sound Control, UK’s no 1 music retailer and Virgin Megastore. The ice-tip of a constant, ever evolving promotional drive. To confirm your entry to the event a registration is required by each band. Not bad, considering what you get for it. In addition to this the first 260 bands receiving Ernie Ball strings for bass and guitars, sticks and skins for drummers, your registration fee can be recovered trough the first heat by an extremely generous ticket system where the bands share in the ticket sales for each event. If none of this persuaded me, then the 26 bands signed over the past 2 years and the supporting tour of one of the Emergenza’s band Zen, in particular, with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers not only convinced me of the events benefit to bands but more so of the real success possible through the event. It beats 1/2 a day in the studio!"

"The more young people that get involved in playing music, the better it is for all of us. It's good to see a festival in Boston that encourages musicians of all ages and levels to get up on a stage and perform live."

Laura Seri Molini - Musicarte

Jedoch muss man sehen, was man dafür bekommt.

"By making the bands pay to enroll in the competition, Emergenza is teaching them that they have to take a chance, which is also a challenge. Nobody knows what will happen but the bands have to aim for the best. Emergenza is giving them the opportunity to sell themselves in the music business “where it’s hard to even get people to listen to you. The partnership between Steve’s Music and Emergenza is more than just business, it’s a way to keep the spirit of rock and roll alive.

"I would just like to send on behalf of my band a HUGE thanks to everyone involved in the festival. Even though we didn't move on, the experience that we acquired was absolutely invaluable. Thank you very much for not only accommodating our ages, but treating us like every other group. Often as a younger band people try and take advantage of us, and the conduct of everyone at Emergenza speaks wonders for your organization .Also, having someone come here and invest in the local music scene is the coolest thing ever. Kudos on some wicked shows, we are very grateful. Have an absolutely wicked festival, and I hope you guys come back to the city soon."

"Just wanted to stop and say hello, and tell you again what a great experience the 2006 Festival has been for us. One of the Bands that saw us at the Baltimore 8 x 10 show, Sleep Infection, liked the performance so much, that they CALLED US to fill their opening spot for Dog Fashion Disco this Friday at SONAR Baltimore. Another Band, Forgotten, hooked us up with another show this past week. Emergenza has really opened some doors for our Band, and allowed us to network with some pretty awesome folks. Thanks again to you and your Crew at Emergenza for the opportunity, and for a job well done. See you at Recher on June 17!!!"

"Thanks for all of your help throughout the Emergenza festival.

to push ourselves as musicians and as performers. We had an amazing 3 rounds and what a fucking ride it was! The last show
we did in NY at the Knitting Factory was a pinacle moment for us and it couldn't have been any tighter, smoother, or well

"Thanks so much for all the critiquing you did with us the other day. we are making huge changes to things totally based on what you said. The girls already are booking voice lessons, I am going to start using my amp for my distortions, and we are getting DVD's of bands performing to learn more about stage presence. The most important thing you said, at least to me, was about sounding dated. I want to have a sound that we all like, but isn't dated sounding. if you can let me know of any other bands that you think have a great new sound please let me know. We have been writing some new stuff and I hope that it does not sound old. Most of the songs you heard the other night were anywhere from 2-4 years old. I hope our new stuff we have been making sounds fresh and something a label will want to sign.
You guys are great, thanks for everything!"

"An experience not to be forgotten. There are no words for to explain how perfect the organization was and I think the Emergenza Village was a fucking good idea, unbelievable. No doubt we would pay for to be there again!!!!
We also felt extremely welcome by all Emergenza staff.
I am writing to you just to thank you for all your hard work in making sure we understood all the things that we must improve (like the band’s image or how to find the way to promotion our music). Every one from Sixteenth Solid Spread appreciates the things you said and we are working on it.
The conversation we had on the Emergenza Village was very important to us, it not only help us grow our motivation but our self-esteem as a band. Thank you so much for helping and make us believe that all this hard work we’re committing ourselves to do will someday show off.
After Taubertal, things are changing for better in the life of the band and we
have to benefit from this moment.

"Firstly I must say it was an absolute pleaseure to play for emergenza!! myself and the guys from Indra throughly enjoyed the festival and an experience not to be forgotten! We also felt exrtemely welcome by all you emergenza guys!
The drum kit was fantastic, what a joy to play, each drummer I spoke with also said it was a great choice of kit and the fact that I personally use sabian cymbals was a complete bonus. Thank you so much.

"iI am writing to you to express my sincerest feelings of grattitude to all of you!!! what we have experienced thanks to Emergenza is outrageous! two sold out concerts in one of basel's most important clubs, the Sommercasino, playing in front of 1000 people on Switzerlands second best known stage, the zürcher Volkshaus, where every swiss musician would like to play once in his lifetime and of course four sensational, unforgettable days at the Taubertal festival!! thank you very much for all of that!!! i'll keep all those experiences in mind until the age of 80, when i'll be sitting in a rocking chair, telling all those fabulous stories to my grand childs...
The organisation was at all times perfect. never have we experienced such well organised concerts like the Emergenza concerts. and Taubertal was the top of it! we had a great time there, with very friendly emergenza staff who alsways treated us with respect and kindness.
At last i wish to express a very special thank you to the responsible man for our area, and his charming assistant. Both of them had the perfect balance of professional behaviour on one hand, and a heart warming tone of caring friends on the other. They made us feel we were never alone in Taubertal and that they really cared for our wellbeing. They do their job with an amount of passion and joy like i have seldom seen in the whole music industry! take care of them, They're a big bargain for Emergenza!!
thank you and all the best wishes for the emergenza organisation!

"I want to send you a formal greeting once again on behalf of Broken Stigma. Our name's are, Pat Tweed (bass and keyboards), Ryan Thompson (guitar), Gary Keefer (drums). I want to thank you, and Emergenza, for such a wonderful time at the state theatre. That is currently our greatest venue, and what an honor it was to play where Hendrix once played.
I believe that Emergenza has nothing but great things in completly pure intensions of great success for future ground breaking bands.
In short playing another gig for you all and the audiance we bring will be a total YES!.
"Broken Stimga" is ready to take on any challenge, and
certainly any venue. Me and the rest of the band love to play music.
and we love to inspire those who seek it.
with that said, to create another adventure of seeling those
little tickets and meeting new people, It all sounds totaly worth it.

"Our band placed 2nd in the Emergenza Finals held in Atlanta GA this
past June, and we are certainly interested in continuing our
relationship with you!
We were highly impressed with the organization of the shows and the
venues associated with the festival. So many "battle of the bands"
seem to just be throw together without paying attention to the details
or keeping the best interests of the bands in mind.
As a result of our second place finish, we were informed that Xzamen
would be eligible to possibly play some showcase dates in the future.
What would be involved in moving forward with this opportunity?
Thanks again for putting together a great competition and giving
smaller bands in the U.S. a chance to play these great, professional
venues!"

It was a supreme pleasure to work with Emergenza. We appreciate the professionalism with which every level has been handled, and the patience and personality that we have encountered with every member of your staff.

Everyone from Lifted appreciates the things you said and we're grateful for the opportunity this presented. "Dear Emergenza family,
I'd like to thank all of you one more time for
everything you've done this year. You are now an
integral part of our lives. In the span of a year we
went from playing our very first tour and printing CDs
on our home computer to winning Emergenza in Boston
and traveling to Germany, releasing our first album,
shooting our first music video, selling out venues and
doubling our fan base. However, the most important
part was getting a taste of the big stage, confirming
our commitment to the band reagardless of problems and
set backs and disovering a family of similar minded
musicians all over the world.
What you do is incredible. Thank you!
I wish all of you happy holidays and a very successful
new year. Hope to see you all in Boston or elsewhere

bands to play in quality venues.", you guy's weren't kidding!!! It is

I just wanted to thank all of you guys and Emergenza for helping us build such a great resume which has placed us with so many recent opportunities. We just got booked at major venues in Boston and got placed on a major radio station WAAF 107.3FM and have been asked to play live on air as well. Also we have many more fans now due to the Emergenza competition not to mention tons of experience. Also thanx to Emergenza we are receiving more press in the area and are getting booked by major colleges.

"Since GEN triumphed at the Emergenza UK final at the London Astoria things have become increasingly amazing in the life of the band.
The excitement of playing in the European Final at the Taubertal Festival last summer is a lasting memory. The sunshine, sonic-bombardment and plentiful supply of refreshing beverages made this the high-point in the band’s career. But little did we know quite where it would take GEN next.
John Tearle (drummer) was offered an endorsement by Jalapeno Drums, which he accepted. Rich Styles and I were approached about an endorsement by Engl and Carlsbro.
Once landed, the phone rang. ‘Jon, are you sitting down?’ said Dave Williams (half of the Meltdown Management team). ‘Yep. It’s 10.30 at night. ‘Good. How would you guys like to fly to America to record your debut album with Tim Bushong?’ he said.
‘...Eh?’ came my reply, eventually. The shock, excitement, confusion, delirium etc. etc. hit me and I think I was probably the happiest man on the planet. The album is now completed and the artwork is being finished. ‘Rite of Refusal’, GEN’s debut album, will be released in May"

"
Just a note to say a big thank you for everything you have done for us since Round 1 back in January.
It was unfortunate for us that our progress in the competition ended before the Astoria final, but the experience and new fans that we have gained through working with you guys has been extremely valuable, and will hopefully help us to progress to the next stage, and get us the recording contract that we are looking for.
It would be great if you would continue to bear us in mind if you are looking for bands to play at any other events that you may be organising. For example, you mentioned the BBC Project later this year...
Thanks again for your support, and hopefully hear from you soon.

"Just a quick email to say hi and thanks to everyone we had the pleasure of meeting and playing with last weekend. It was truly an amazing experience to meet so many great people from around the world and we had the time of our lives. Thank you to the Emergenza staff that made the weekend possible and run as smoothly as is humanly possible with 20 bands to take care of!! You guys done a great job and the contacts and experience we have gained from Emergenza has been more than we could have hoped for.
We hope to see you all in the future and wish everyone the very best of luck! Please keep in touch and let us know how our new friends are doing."

"Hi There!!
First of all, we wanna thank you for a brilliant contest. Its really a god opportunity for bands with no contract to show themselves. We made it to the Swedish final and did well. We are thinking of being part of it next year to. So we wonder if you can give us information when the next competision is in Stockholm. Once again... Thanks"

"I just wanted to say that the whole band would like to thank you for a well organized and really fun gig!!
Too bad we missed second place with only 2 votes, but we're had really really fun on stage and hope we delivered some good music!
I hope the final goes well and that you get the best band to go to Germany!

Noi Lambisco abbiamo solo tre concerti all'attivo...quelli fatti e vissuti GRAZIE AD emergenza!!!

Ciao ciao

"hier is Ramon!!!

I wanted to write you guys to thank you so much for the CD. It really sounds great and will be a great promo tool for BTT as well as for the Emergenza Festival. We are so pleased to have received it and appreciate you taking the time to consider us.
Once again, we really enjoyed our experience with the festival and are looking to next year's rounds. Thank you for bringing new life to indie bands in Montreal. You've done a great thing.
Unfortunately, I, myself was not able to be there at the finals, as I had a gig that night. However, my band did go and said that it was packed. So in closing, thank you once again for the CD and hopefully we will stay in touch. We'd love to promote ourselves in Europe at one point and look forward to possibly working with you.

APPLAUDISSEMENTS !!"

"What a beautiful time we had this weekend. Thank you so much for the honor of best singer, I'll treasure it always. We had an absolute blast, maybe too much of a blast. Ah! what's too much? "Hi everybody!!!
It's Tony, the drummer from Running Against Radar. Just a quick response to
Andy's e-mail to everyone. To Andy, thanks for taking the initiative to thank
everybody, the bands and Emergenza staff alike. It was so nice to hear from
one of our fellow Rothenburg bands after we all had such a wonderful
experience. I'm sure that we all wish we were still over there playing our
music to a great enthusiastic German crowd. Myself, as well as the other
members from RAR - Dave, Greg and Simon - feel so lucky to have met so many
wonderful musicians and bands over the span of the trip.
We should all be proud of our achievements, and know that the future holds many
more of these occasions. I think we all remember the mud covering the whole
festivals grounds, and how many music listeners chose to slide and wrestle in
it. Also, what a great stage to play on, looking out onto the audience, the
valley, the hills and the amazing castles and old houses on top of them. And
what tasty food! Those vouchers filled many hungry belly's. We all remember
making the walk down the hostel stairs with a hangover, and feasting on the
wonderful buffet breakfast that was waiting. Naturally, we all went for the
coffee first because we were still half asleep! What an experience!
Whenever RAR are travelling to a different country, we'll make sure to contact
your band, and perhaps we can arrange some shows or a mini tour, or just meet
up and have a drink and talk about this great experience.
Again, thank you to all the bands and the Emergenza staff for giving us this wonderful musical opportunity…"
