TOP STORIES
After the dissolution of the band, ‘Elegy for Iris’, vocalist Adrian Flores was still hungry for a chance to further his musical career. As his efforts became exhausted, he stumbled upon Colby Edwards, a fellow co-worker and musician. Edwards, who was currently playing in the band ‘All Stories End’, agreed to jam with Flores. Little did they know, as the two sat for the first time, they completed what was to become a crowd favorite in the band they would soon start. During the first couple of months they concentrated on finding a drummer, all the while still writing songs. In august of 2005 the boys recorded a two song demo at rhapsody street studios in San Antonio, TX.
As Marc Trevino (ex-member Saving Grace) and his bass guitar joined the band in late 2005, the boys still did not have a name. Through the struggles they had endured and obstacles that were overcome, they decided on Fareview. No one would look down on anyone, and they would all look up to each other. Right from the start, Fareview was playing national shows and establishing good relationships with local booking agents and venues. Fareview has shared the stage with bands such as Self Against City, Lydia, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Greeley estates, playradioplay!, Quietdrive, and Copeland to name a few. Their crowds growing with every show, the boys began to drive each other to do better and better.
With summer of 2006 approaching the band felt as though something was missing in their sound. They all agreed that they needed more musical depth, so the boys added a second guitarist. As drummers made their way in and out of the band, the boys finally set their sights on Michael Garza (The Armory), an established drummer in San Antonio. Garza joined the band in early August 2006 bringing a harder sound to the band, the Garza edge.
Now complete, Fareview’s unavoidably addictive style of music (once referred to as “post-hardcore pop”), their overpowering stage presence, and their lovable laidback attitude has made them a San Antonio crowd favorite. On a mission to further their success, they will be heading into the studio later this month to record a 6-song EP and will then proceed to take over the world.
