HABITUAL COERSION is an original four piece “death-jazz” group from NW Ohio. They formed in 2002, but underwent several changes before the establishment of their current lineup, solid since summer 2004. Once going by the name CIRCADIAN RYHTHYM, the band played a few shows in the Cleveland area, but changed the name after the departure of singer Brian Frey.

The musicians of H.C. were in various other bands from the region;

Kerry Frank- Drummer- KRYPTIK EMBRACE, STASH
Boe Skadeland- Bassist- PUNISHER, KRYPTIK EMBRACE, A GRUESOME FIND
Bruce Schwiebert- Guitarist- PUNISHER, UNDERTAKER (TOLEDO)
Duke- Vocals- GORESICK, KRYPTIK EMBRACE, A GRUESOME FIND

These bands helped to influence and nurture the talent in H.C. Ultimately bringing together the best lineup possible.

HABITUAL COERSION is currently working with engineer Ed Mason on their debut cd, the whole of which is scheduled to be finished summer 2005. They have released a single titled VAST DIFFERENCE, which is given away free at shows and various locations around NW Ohio. The members of H.C come from varying musical backgrounds and their playing style was influenced by many different factors from old-school rock, black & death metal, blues, jazz and classical compositions.

HABITUAL COERSION has a refreshingly unique sound, incorporating heavy death style bursts with awe inspiring funk breaks and mesmerizing guitar solos. The band negotiates from riff to riff with flawless execution, moving as if a single entity rather than four individuals. The vocals are as wide ranged as the rest of the music moving from death growls and screams into traditional metal verses and off the wall crazy ranting. H.C. brings a much needed rebirth to the local music scene, steering away from cookie cutter radio wannabes, they lean towards the unexpected and pull of the unbelievable.

HABITUAL COERSION is available for local shows, and is willing to travel. Their sound and attitude works well with a diverse group of musical genres, but is best received buy a heavy/death metal crowd.
