Charger’s roots began to form in the year 2002. Jay Shehi and Zach Sheffield began by recording "Throw Your Colors". This collaboration, allowed songwriting magic between friends to begin its undeniable journey. Jay and Zach, soon after, met with Philip Hall to form the complete band of Prophecy. The three classmates, plus drummer Chris Sims, had a world dominating rock group that would remain solid for roughly two years. Prophecy split and went separate ways in 2004. Jay continued his music career by writing a solo cd and Zach moved on with his instrumental CD. Philip, however, pursued a life of politics and scandalous women while drummer Chris Sims attended dental school in Kentucky. In 2005, the three high school classmates, Jay, Zach, and Phil decided to reunite the music magic and re-create their band in the city of Birmingham. A flyer was placed in a local music store in search for the perfect drummer. Responding to one of multiple ads at the music store, Eason was able to find a time to meet with this band and get to know one another. Over dinner, Eason, Jay, and Zach began to form an idea of exactly what this re-created band may produce. After listening to the previously recorded CD’s given to Eason by the other three band members, they were ready for their first practice. The four young men jammed for hours, simply to see what the newly incorporated drums would sound like with music dating back to Prophecy’s first CD. It was a success. Not only after a short period of time was Eason able to nail the re-created band’s originals, but was able to incorporate his own sound into the music. And the result…Charger.
