Sonen started out in 2003 as the indie electronica solo project of music producer/ multi-instrumentalist Keith Evans. In 2006, after winning Creative Loafing's Best Electronic Artist, Evans enlisted the local talents of vocalist /cellist Erica Ellis, synth player/vocalist/ percussionist Holly Mullinax, drummer Shawn Thacker and guitarist/ studio engineer Adam Zuppardo. Evans took over as the lead vocalist /bassist and worked with the revamped lineup to create a new record. The sound has since evolved beyond electronica and into an amalgamation of genres that pushes the sonic limits of indie rock yet still maintains it’s electronic edge.
