THE AGENCY
You have participated in the Emergenza Festival Edition 2016/2017. What made you decide to take part in it?
In November 2016 we started messaging clubs and bars, trying to get some gigs. One of them recommended that we entered into Emergenza, we thought it sounded like a cool opportunity, so we did.
As you approach the world final, what is your state of mind?
We're super exited, we never expected to get this far, but we are determined to go out on that stage, have fun and play the best gig we can, like we've done every time so far.
What is your best memory from your Emergenza experience?
Playing the Danish and Nordic finals in Pumpehuset. All members of the band had the time of their lives. Having your fans screaming at you while you play your own music is a feeling that is almost impossible to describe.
What's behind your band's name? Any specific meaning?
Many years ago, when we were all very young, it sounded cool and none had any idea what it meant.
If you had to choose a famous song that represents your band...which one would it be?
"Born to be wild!"
Can you tell us a funny story or anecdote about your experience on stage? And one which happened in backstage or during the preparation of a show ?
A while ago we were preparing for a show in a small town in Denmark, we were outside in the dark and our drummer (who is an "Afro-danish" guy) thought it would be funny to take off his shirt and run away, because then we couldn't see him, haha... a few seconds later we heard him scream and he came running back. Turns out he had run straight into and electric fence.
How would you describe your music ?
What we play is probably best described as Rock Music with elements of Funk and Heavy mixed in.
Before you go on stage, do you have a ritual or a good luck charm that goes everywhere with you?
Yes, before every gig (and this is not suitable for children) we hurdle together and our drummers shouts "Hvad vil vi have!?" and the rest of the band screams "Fisse!" Translated this means: "What do we want?!" - "Pussy!" We shout the chant a couple of times and then we walk out, ready to play.
What is your dream gig?
Our dream gig is to play on Orange Stage at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark.
What can audiences expect from one of your live performances?
A very good time. We try to put as much energy as we can into the crowd, we love dancing around and having a laugh with each other and the audience.
If you could invite a band or an artist at your party, dead or alive, who would it be?
The answer differs greatly depending on which band member you ask. The lead guitarist would invite Slash, the drummer would invite, Aron Spears
What are your short to medium term plans after the international final?
We're currently contacting various small festivals in Denmark, to get some gigs. We are also recording some demos to send out to a couple of record companies that have shown interest in us.
What inspires you when you are composing (musical inspirations or others) ?
We all take inspiration in very different things, when writing lyrics it's mostly our personal lies and experiences, and musically we take inspiration from a large variety of artists as we all listen to quite different kinds of music.
What question did I forget?
The missing question would be: "Was there enough beer at the earlier venues?"
Why do you think you deserve to win the 2017 Festival edition?
Because we have worked hard for years to get to where we are, this is our dream. We have a show with great energy and music that people can dance to. Because we love doing what we do on stage, and for us, playing music for a living is the only way we can imagine our lives.
