    WIDE MONO, that is vocalist and bass player Marius, guitarist Konstantin and drummer Guido. Since June 2008, the three have amazing keyboardist Bernd with them. Truly, WIDE MONO is a brand new band, fresh from the rehearsal room, young–spirited and ready to roll.

    Leaving manifold and misleading redefinitions of musical directions aside: WIDE MONO surely accounts for the genre of Rock and Pop, plays a set entirely self-composed music and has as vocal language English exclusively. The band is strict in giving each song a different outfit but having it sound unmistakably in the unique and dark but warm WIDE MONO minors. The band’s passions are songs simply arranged but richly instrumented, bearing this fine notion of melancholy which creeps gently through parsimonious verses, gaining power in smashing choruses and, after all, exploding in multi–voice finalés. Of course, WIDE MONO claims to be unique. However, one may not fail in claiming that also WIDE MONO has its influences. But the four leave it to the listener to judge.

    Now, after being extremely busy with the writing of their unique material, WIDE MONO presents the very first CD, entitled “after centuries”. This 5-track demo, recorded between August 2007 and March 2008 really contains the essential WIDE MONO-sound, ranging from rough modern up-tempo guitar music over influences of dance and pop, alternative to mellow and soul-stirring ballads.

    Although this recording gives a quite detailed impression of what WIDE MONO is about, one should not miss the power of WIDE MONO playing live. This energy is really infectious, and it will be an experience really touching the listener’s heart, soul and brain. Nontheless, WIDE MONO is by no means easy listening. Although the compositions come in charming sound, the music of the band requires complete devotion and full attention of the listener. Moreover, WIDE MONO is like love at second sight: first, it is puzzling, but then, it stays forever.
