    After two years of almost continuous gigging and recording, Broke and Down remains one of the most consistently entertaining of all the outfits to emerge from the Ska Punk boom of the late nothings.

    Founded, and still led, by Ivan and Jon, the band has survived early personnel changes, and the vagaries of fashion in the popular music business, largely because despite the occasional highly successful foray into the charts, the most successful being the neo-classic world-wide hit "Modern Glory", sung and co-written by Jon, the band has always kept an eye firmly on its roots, namely Ska and Punk.

    For the past six months or so the band has had a more stable line-up, considered by many to be its best ever, and besides making record attempts concentrated its efforts in backyards, with numerous festival and club dates.

    The band goes into 2009 with the brand-new studio EP, "Fixing Up", and some tracks have already been laid down for another new studio CD, with release planned for the end of the year. In the meantime they continue to book shows around Southern California.
