that’s the music of Raintown from Esslingen near Stuttgart. If one’d like to assign the 5 headed band into a category, a mixture from Grunge and Punk probably fits best. Musical influences come from bands such as Enter Shikari, the Beatsteaks or the Hives.
The thought-provoking and socio-critical texts of frontman Jan and frontwoman Dani are about absurd everyday life situations, human fates and so on. They are underlined by hard guitar riffs with catchy melodies and dynamic drums.
History:
In January 2006 Jan, Dani and Max founded "Mister Raintown". 2 days before their 1st gig, Benji joins the band and after 2 nights of practice he plays at the 1st gig.
In summer 2006 Raintown realized that they can’t go on without bass, whereupon Dani learned the art of bass playing.
Since February 2007 Kari does the drums after Max left the band.
The year 2008 began perfectly: Raintown fought themselves against 60 other bands up to the 2nd place at the Balingen newcomer-contest.
At the beginning of 2008 Phil joined the band and replaced Dani at the bass.
At the moment, Raintown works on its first CD and fights within the Emergenza festival for audience votes.

Das ist die Musik von Raintown aus Esslingen bei Stuttgart. Möchte man die 5 köpfige Band einem Genre einordnen, so trifft eine Mischung aus Grunge und Punk wohl am ehesten zu. Musikalische Einflüsse kommen von Bands wie Enter Shikari, den Beatsteaks oder den Hives. Die nachdenklichen und gesellschaftskritischen Texte von Frontmann Jan und Frontfrau Dani handeln von absurden Alltagssituationen, menschlichen Schicksalen uvm. Unterstrichen wird dies durch harte Gitarrenriffs mit eingängigen Melodien und dynamischen
Zur Geschichte :
Im Januar 2006 gründen Jan , Dani und Max "Mister Raintown" . 2 Tage vor ihrem 1. Gig trifft noch Benji auf die Band und nach 2 durchprobten Nächten spielt er sofort beim 1. Gig mit.
Mitte 2006 war dann klar dass es ohne Bass nicht weitergeht, woraufhin Dani die Kunst des Bassspielens erlernte. Seit Februar 2007 sitzt jetzt Kari am Schlagzeug, nachdem Max aus der Band ausstieg . Das Jahr 2008 fing für die Band perfekt an: Beim Newcomercontest in Balingen kämpften sie sich gegen 60 andere Bands bis auf den 2. Platz vor. Anfang 2008 kam dann noch Phil zur Band, der Dani am Bass ablöste.
Momentan arbeitet Raintown an der ersten CD und kämpft beim Emergenza-Festival kräftig um Publikumsstimmen.
