    A group of talented musicians who cut their teeth in various musical ventures through out the U.S. playing various styles of music ranging from Alternative & Metal to Funk, Blues and Gospel. The result is a unique rock sound that is fueled by great songwriting. This dedication to great songs stems from a collaboration between Chip (guitar) and Jack Marques (vocals).
    Over time, they grew to admire one another’s talent and writing. However, it was not until June of 2002 that they decided to join efforts. The decision came from a chance meeting when Michael Sweet (artist, producer, singer of Stryper ) heard a couple of songs they collaborated on. Michael felt there was certain magic in what they wrote together in comparison to music written separately. Jack and Chip heard it as well and decided to collaborate more. Soon after they knew it was time to do a record. Chip recruited long time bassist and friend Chris Sutherland to play bass. Jack brought with him long time music partners Michael Aguiar ( drums ) and Ruben DeMello ( keys ). Each player brought his flavor to the table and during rehearsals for the record, they knew something special was beginning to happen. These five musicians instantly gelled and the Mars Hill sound was alive.
    Their debut record Sink or Swim (produced by Michael Sweet) is evidence of their sound and creativity, revealing their edge, melody and style. The content is thought provoking and inspiring; reflecting on humanity, spirituality and personal history. This music is infectious and will affect you in many ways.
