Deercamp in Cambodia, formerly known as The RuNs began about ten years ago when we would get together at parties and play whacked songs with our acoustic guitars. In April of 2003 we decided to make a band out of it, and what better genre than Punk Rock Music to accommodate such gnarly songs. Most of our music has a Punk rock feel to it, however due to our singer’s schizophrenic vocals the outcome is rarely one-sided. Deercamp in Cambodia is a three-piece band comprised of members of former local acts including, Heavy Sun, C.A.D., and Fluid Sol Tribe. We have played several shows locally at Vino’s Brew Pub, Downtown Music and Records, White Water Tavern, as well as other venues. We have been well-received and asked back at every venue we’ve played. The reception to the music is always positive. Our sound has been compared to a wide range of diverse acts such as, Queens of the Stone Age, Fugazi, Black Flag and others. On 11-30-03 we recorded a six-song demo with local favorite, Marcus Lowe. After an 8 month hiatus we regrouped in September of 2004 with a new name and an added bass player Greg Workman.
