    À LA UNE
Deep Shag was listed by Action and Adventure Magazine as one of the “MUST SEE” bands in the Southeast.” The band was recently honored when they were chosen out of 1200 entrants to be included on Disc Makers’ Independent Music World Series “Heavy Hitters” CD/ROM Compilation. Deep Shag was also a semi-finalist in the 2003 Grammy Showcase, and in March of 2004 they won the Got Milk? Shake Stuff up Battle of the Bands. Recently they were listed in the TOP 25 Unsigned bands by Atlantis 2004 and were added to the Atlantis 2004 Compilation.

After capturing the attention of thousands of fans in the Southeast with their explosive stage show, Deep Shag is now capturing the attention of music industry professionals. The band insists on bringing its music to the fans, and has kept an intense tour schedule of 200 or more shows a year for the last 2 years. With the release of their debut CD entitled Rug Burn on their own label, Royal Subterranean, they have begun to break new territories including Texas, the Mid West, and dates on the East Coast. Deep Shag has shared the stage with numerous national recording artists including Everclear, Maroon 5, Kill Hannah, Thornley, and more. In 2003 Funk Guru George Clinton provided 2 cameos for Rug Burn. Deep Shag’s sound, which they refer to as “modern groove rock”, blends the pure element’s of many influences from 70’s Hard Rock, Alternative, and Glam/Pop to create a sound that may be hard to classify, but is undoubtedly groundbreaking and fresh, yet somehow familiar. There is no doubt that the common threads to all of the music are the vocals of Manda Marsh. She will not only convince you, but also command you with her powerful emotional effect and aggressive vocal style.
