    À LA UNE
This world has left and kept me down here, where the strings have taken me in, so let my life be a song- Matt Willams. Wills- Sons of the Revolution is a local, self-produced band in the Kalamazoo, MI area. Many of you haven known us as the band VEGA from all the VanKal parties that WE throw. We ran into legal issues with that name, due to a band in Lansing, MI called vega, so we decided to just change it to something to suite the band better. This worked out great for us because, though we didn't realize it at the time, the band itself was growing and changing. Our previous rhythm guitarist (Dan Switzer) and bass player (Tadd Smynios) had to leave the band, by choice, for personal reasons regarding their lifestyles. Within a week we welcomed a new member, Todd Reese, as our bass player. Since then our name changed and even our musical style is evolving closer to the sound we've been searching for. Let me begin with how our band formed. The three longest standing members: Matt Williams, Joe Earle, and I (Matthew Wills) began our musical journey in with the local metal band called Rysen. That band fell apart and Joe and I stuck together and formed a new band (vega ) in October 2004 with Joe on drums and I on guitar. We decided that we no longer wanted to play metal and were persuing a harder, progressive rock style that would be vocal-driven and less showcase. Three weeks later we had a singer (Ian Edwards) and Tadd on bass. We played our first show as Vega at our Roctober Fest 05' party at our home on VanKal. That night Matt Williams saw us play and became interested in singing for us. When Ian (old singer) left the band we called Matt and asked him if he wanted to join us again as this new band and he was over within hours to tryout. The rest is history. We recorded our own demo, which is on this website, by ourselves with our own recording equipment with no experiance recording-but money's tight being young and punchin' a clock all week for pennies-so we made due with what we had. So enjoy the songs, theres much of our time that we put into this band and we offer it to you free to enjoy. All we would like to see is some new faces at our shows. Theres nothing greater for a musician than to see fans enjoy the music we had created. So hope to see ya soon! Show references (places we've played): Club Soda-Kalamazoo, The Corner Bar-Kal, The Dog House-Kal, Papa Pete's-Kal, The Rocker-Grand Rapids.
