Grey Dominion was started by Hayden Moskowitz. It formed out of his high school music scene in Medford, NJ. Success amongst his peers notwithstanding; Hayden had bigger musical aspirations. At the end of 2007, Hayden responded to a Craigslist ad posted by an group called Void Vision. Void Vision was the brainchild of Shari Wallin. It has seen many line up changes since its birth in 2006. The project finally came to fruition with the addition of Hayden. The band was complete with the further addition of Jessica Martinez on the drums. Our greatest strength is that are backgrounds are so diverse. The youngest of us is 17, while the most seasoned is 34! Yet our passion for music that goes by many labels (post-punk, goth or new wave) unites us. To describe our sound is difficult. When we set out we were determined not to be clones of the bands we worship. How can you pigeonhole a band that borrows from the likes of: The Smiths, Joy Division, Nico, Velvet Underground, Bowie, New York Dolls, Depeche Mode, Gang of Four, Blondie, Fad Gadget, New Order? The ultimate goal is to make music that moves you (literally) without insulting your intelligence in this World gone wrong with American Idolism.
