À LA UNE
Perhaps most precisely, Tako Lako cultivates ’balkan rock’ by playing a mix of original tones of the Balkan rhythm, combining it with Nordic twists and a brand new sound of rock. Besides creating an intense musical experience, this often abounds in ingenious solutions and sudden turnovers which are likely to surprise both the picky musical ears and the party-loving crowd. Due to their proximity to the Balkan music tradition, a cognizable melody occurs now and then - creating an entirely original sound whilst, of course, educing immediate danceable movement. In other words; once their sound bursts through your musical senses on the dance-floor, there is no turning back!
Of course, there is more to their music than dance. Through their wacky musical contradictions and self-ironic approach to their performances, Tako Lako have been praised for their euphoric live-shows whichmove not only your feet but also your soul. On stage they are lead by the vigorously energetic lead-singer Ognjen Curcic, who is sure to inspire through his gibberishly ironic lyrics and insane, hard-core Balkan attitude.
Although young, all of Tako Lako’s members are experienced and highly gifted musical talents, consisting of Malene Brask (the only female member of the band, contributing with clarinet, soprano sax, and additional vocals), Søren Stensby Hansen (violinist), Andreas Broby Jensen (accordionist), Simon Patrick Thielke (spanish guitar), Philip Zubin Køppen (bassist), Mark Falgren (drummer), Kristian Paulsen (percussionist) and on-stage motive power Ognjen Curcic (vocalist).
