The band Velvet8ball is the thrilling adrenaline kick of pure live rock music which leaves even the most timid member of an audience jumping and thriving with excitement.
The newly recorded track "Smokescreen" is an example of the ultimate thick barrier of rock music which this band creates. Let the song suck you in and surround you like a haze of sound penetrating your spine. Velvet8ball will without a doubt be taking control of your body for those intense three minutes of smokescreen.
The first time I met the band was the summer of 2003 at a gig in the centre of Copenhagen. I showed up since I'd heard about "the 8ball" through a friend who was very much into this young band. The true rockstar potential demonstrated by the band that evening was overwhelming. Afterwards the lads and I went out for a couple of drinks and decided that I would help them design covers and graphics for their debut demo.
With time our friendship grew stronger and I couldn't help myself following every musical step undertaken by velvet8ball. One could only enjoy the extreme enthusiasm and the climb in musical quality which the band demonstrated during the next six months. Before they even asked me, in early 2004, the answer was obvious.... Of course I wanted to manage this bunch of future rock gods and hand them over as my gift to the world.
