SOMEWHERE ON EARTH recorded their first project in 1997. At the time, they went under the name of The Colin Bernard Band. With the original members of the band, including Monica Bernard, another project (Brother in the Distance) was completed and released in the spring of 1999 under that same name.

Having performed at various venues during that time and enjoying the relative success of name recognition through radio airplay and media reviews, they relocated to Ottawa in 2001.

Joël Bernard, who is the main songwriter for the band, provided most of their materiel for Brother in the Distance.

Preliminary work has begun on a new demo which will include new material such as “When will you come back”, “Turn away” and “Hold On”.

SOMEWHERE ON EARTH's immediate future plans are to perform at as many festivals as possible throughout the provinces of Ontario and Québec for the summer of 2004. They’ll also be devoting much time garnering radio airplay all over the country.
