Hailing from Charlottetown, PE, the band coalesced in 2001 and began creating intelligent, melodic, heavy music. The band has earned a strong following through independent performance and has complimented the East Coast’s heaviest acts, as well as Ontario’s Blurtonia and GASH. Live shows are intense and energetic, offering a musical experience that is engaging, cerebral and memorable.
Each of the five members has over ten years of experience in the local music scene, and fuse a variety of musical influences into the unmistakable sound that is Negative J.
The band has enjoyed success on the local level, winning studio time to record a demo and performing at some of the region’s larger musical festivals (most recently Cymbria MusicFest 2003). Future plans include touring to support their soon to be released debut album, Nexus, and securing distribution and management. The band will also continue to evolve, pursuing the goal that initially brought its members together – Creating great music.
