NIGHT SHIFT DEVILS

ハイライト
Night Shift Devils is an instrumental hard rock band from Ottawa that has been playing together since late 2000. In the beginning, it's four members, Mike Blanchard (Drums), Nick Kuiper (Lead Guitar) Chuck Curtis (Bass), and Nick St. Jean (Rhythm Guitar), met at Woodroffe High School's Concert and Stage Bands. They became friends over the years and realized they had a mutual love for music. The notion to start a band was immediate. Chuck, who had a similar love and taste for music - and could play bass - joined them after school, to jam to cover tunes in the music room. They soon realized there was a defiant potential for starting a serious band. Some weeks later they moved into Mike's Barrehaven basement and started to work on original material.

After mastering a few covers and writing a few originals, the group played numerous talent shows around the city. Although their original songs were all instrumental, the covers were sung by Mike from behind the drums. After a while, they scrapped the covers and focused on what they did best - the instrumental originals. Two more songs were written before the group was temporarily to a trio. Chuck lost interest and left the band. As a trio, Night Shift Devils wrote 2 more songs, and started riffs for a couple more. A long time friend named Todd Myron was asked to audition for the band. He mastered the repertoire in 2 weeks and fell naturally into the group. His playing ability and attitude fit the band perfectly. The trio was a quartet again. Since then, Night Shift Devils have played many shows around the city with numerous bands and will continue to do so for years to come.
