Seven Clicks was formed in the early summer of 2002, when 4 guys decided to create a unique sound combining melodic rock sounds from a wide variety of influences. Rory, Matt and Andrew had been together for a while, and had just teamed up with new drummer Shawn, and decided to jam. The sessions had chemistry right away and they decided to keep playing. This led to more writing, and gigging. Under the name Sparkplug, they decided to play their first show at Miller’s Crossing, and it was a success. The band fed off each other’s chemistry on stage and it was only uphill from there. However, there was much work to do – the band continued jamming and kicking out new tunes, each one better than the last. Shawn’s heavy rock drumbeats meshed well with Andrew’s melodic guitar riffs, heavily influenced by the likes of mid-nineties grunge and rock, while Matt’s complementing bass riffs rounded out the sound that they were looking for. Rory’s soaring vocals lend themselves to a blend of rock and country influences, creating vocals that grab the listener and doesn’t let go. Lyrically, the songs range in topic from love to abuse, death and heartache.
Seven Clicks is currently finishing their first demo at Pebble Studios, in Ottawa, Ontario. There is no scheduled release as it is being mastered. Once the demo is out of the way the band will be ready to burst onto the Ottawa scene. Please check the events page for upcoming shows.
