Emergency Exit is a band that has roots older than any of the band members can actually place a date on. The idea was formed nearly ten years ago by three kids who loved music and wanted to have fun. The actual music did not begin until the summer of 2002, when one of the bands co-founders, lead singer/guitarist Brendan Farragher, began playing with drummer Ben Johnson (previously of First Five Lives). Bass player and co-founder Zack Kennedy soon joined the mix, and Emergency Exit was born. Since then, Emergency Exit has been dedicated to writing songs about life, fun, and growing up. With major influences like Blink182, Greenday, Nofx, Pennywise, the Rx Bandits, the Bouncing Souls, and much more, Emergency Exit has succeed in blending a variety of sounds, creating a catchy punk, ska, and alternative feel to their songs. Four years later, Emergency Exit has become an experienced and hard-working entity. From writing almost two album’s worth of material, playing over twenty shows (including at the Middle East Club and Paradise Lounge in the Boston area), home recording songs, making t-shirts and demos for fans, Emergency Exit has seen and done many things that they never expected. With high hopes for good things in the future, Emergency Exit continues to have fun, write music, play shows, and share their lives with listeners and fans.
