Red Sky Down was founded by Ryan Balcom (guitar & vocals) in Jan '06 in Mississauga Ontario. Previously performing as a solo artist under the name 'Embracing Forever'. When it came time for "EF' to record his new EP in Hamilton at Masterming Studios Ryan wanted to experiment with more instruments backing him up. It just happened that good friend Derek Allan (Bass) was really into being apart of the new project. Chris (drums) who is friends and previous band mates from other projects was then also approached and interested in being a part of what was happening as well. The 3 of them got together in January '06 and had a deadline of 2 months to re-arrange 4 previous songs written by Ryan and headed to the studio to record. Come April of '06 Red Sky Down released ther first 6 song EP "Picture despair"
Now the boys from Mississauga are out playing shows wherever they can can get them and continualy growing a solid fan base.
Almost a year since first playing together Red Sky Down is now ready for 2007 to head back to the studio and record ther first full length album and with hopes to expand out past ther traditional Southern Ontario showcases.
