The band was founded in the end of 2003 by Sander and Kevin, together with Nigel and Jeroen in Capelle aan den IJssel, The Netherlands.
One year Robin joined the band. Since September 2006 Biënne has joined the band.
In 2004 Y&D went to SKVR in Rotterdam for professional lessons. There band coach is Ed de Jong.
Y&D, plays original material, mostly written by Sander. Their new songs Missing, You, Test of Time and Let me Live are big hits among the fans. Solid (rock) guitar riffs by Sander and Kevin, excellent bass of Nigel, energetic drums by Jeroen (student of Cesar Zuiderwijk and Ernst van Ee) and the sparkling keyboards by Robin, form the solid base of the warm voice of Bienne.
The lyrics of the songs are about things young people concern, love, respect, and making choices, therefore the most fans are aged between 10 and 18.
