Fool Moon is a band of the soft south of the Netherlands. Which doen't mean their music is soft. Gitarist Wouter and bass-player David learned to funkrock in the band "Once". And yes, once upon a time they warmed the hearts of rocking youngsters in the city of Eastwood (Oosterhout). Frontman Roland (Oosterhout) has been the singer in the grunge band "Naive". This band was called the natural succession of Once at the start of the nineties. At least because of their local popularity. Drummer Thijs (Tilburg) also played with Wouter and David in another funky band "Gadget". During the late nineties this band consisted of three more musicians and it was in this period that David, Wouter and Thijs experimented with the boundries of what music has in it for people. Just to discovered they were exploring their own boundries. They nearly won the Dongense podiumbattle and were casted as an ugly duckling. That however wasn't a problem for them to give a jazzy, funky gig amongst hardrock music fans and thus Foolmoon is the answer to that mystery. Foolmoon has a heavy yet warm sound. Sometimes massive but mostly pure rock and there's always room for the more subtle songs about love and hope. However the lyrics aren't a one-way street but open for interpretation. You can hear what you want in them. And that is just one of many reasons to go see these guys live.
