Inspired by Such bands as Mushroomhead, Lamb of God, and Dog Fashion Disco, Budapest's Shapes of Distortion tries to bring something new to the heavy music scene. The band, founded in 2005, consits of six friends, all of them with unique musical backgrounds, adding their own flavour to the mix of genres we operate in. Our music is dark and heavy, freshed up with cameos from such genres as ska, drum n bass, bossa nova, disco and funk. The lyrics are obscured and symbolic, they mainly reflect the diseases of human society, dealing with topics as narcism, insanity, racism, dictatoric intentions and greed. We approach this topic with irony instead of direct assault.
We released our first single in 2011, called the rabbits are coming, reflecting on the narcisist ego-centric sub-culture of our generation.
Shapes of Distortion will release their 5 song EP in june 2011. The whole EP will be released as a free download on all of our profiles (facebook, myspace, signmeto) on the net. The featured tracks will be: Slave part 2, Hallucinations of a Crazed Mind, Genocide, Window, and The 95 drive.
