The Illusion of Control is a progressive rock/metal three piece which hails from Chicago, IL. We play a style of music which combines abrassive assault and soothingly melodic guitar that cuts through the bone with driving, thick-toned and pounding bass, matching guitar riffs equally melodic; only to be surrounded by mathematically precise drums, tribal and break-beats littered with attacking double bass to create a sound of music totally missing from Chicago's music scene.
Dino Panzani (Drums-15yrs.) 22 yrs old, Javier Lazaro (Bass-7yrs.) 22 yrs old and Peet (Guitar-9yrs.) 23 yrs old. Three friends who together in highschool formed the band Archetype, played for 2 years, then split apart due to different musical projects, geographical changes and drug addictions--only to meet up again 3 years later to form out of the ashes and scabbed skin of Archetype... THE ILLUSION OF CONTROL. The band's only mission is to bring back to music what we've been "fiending" for: heavy, melodic, intricate, creative, dark, beautiful, and blindingly inspiring music that constantly evolves and has NO boundaries... which is exactly what we've begun to do.
The Illusion of Control will push on despite not finding the right singer as of yet to inseminate the ear-holes of all who hunger for a taste of our musical annihilation.
