NOTIZIE PRINCIPALI
Mismo plays rock. Four dudes with a desire to create something different, something that they like and, hopefully, something that others will like as well. Often heartfelt, sometimes political, they’re almost always angry, and they always do ROCK! Established in late 2003, the band has completed 1 EP, 1 soon to be released LP, and gigged numerously throughout the Maryland/Pennsylvania area in their short existence. Described as "a mixture of Fugazi and the Misfits" (Music Monthly issue March 2004), the band's "potent live shows" (GenXEffect June 2004) have garnered exponential attention with each outing.

The secret is seemingly in the sauce and context of their songwriting. It does not adhere to any one label or genre, nor does it force itself to concoct a new one out of several others. The smoothness of their influences is more “apparent and co-existing” than “transparent and co-joined” (this noting that their faves range from Metallica and Thursday to Black Flag and The Clash). Songs such as "Anal Voltron" and “Unmarked Grave” show the band bears no lack of testosterone when coming to crunch. Long players “Death Sleep” and “Fade Away”, alternately, display structures and melody that are normally akin to prog rock, along the lines of the aforementioned Fugazi, or Camel, or even the Mars Volta.

In an already saturated music scene, Mismo aims to just entertain the audience, along with themselves. No preconceptions, no trips, just rock n roll based music, with endearment to those who will listen.
