Guernica began to assemble their music in October of 1999. After going through various line-up changes finally in April 2003 the permanent line-up was born. Guernica is known as a metal/hardcore band who like to mix it up and keep the audience on their toes. With metal guitar riffs, a groove oriented rythym section, hardcore breakdowns and abstract vocals, Guernica continues to bring a unique sound to its heavy genre. Each song is different and takes the listener to another place in time. The band strives to make uncompromising music that is done according to their own rules. The main focus of the band is to create and mix different styles of music, but at the same time not alienate their metal/hardcore roots. This is best described in their first album "What's Lurking Inside" which is known as a buffet style of heavy musical influences by five musicians who do it as hard and as real as anyone.
