Motherseat is a new alternative rock band based out of Boston, Massachusetts. Motherseat’s original music is centered on poetic lyrics intertwined with tight melodies. The Motherseat sound is a unique and somewhat haunting rock noise that has been worked on with flawless attention to detail. The final result, the 7 songs debut CD titled Frail, was finished in July of 2004. Motherseat’s music went public for the first time at www.motherseat.com, and the response from the public and from the music community has been very optimistic. Adam Ayan of Gateway Mastering (Portland, Maine) says, “Motherseat rocks, and is on its way!”

The material for the first Motherseat project, debut CD Frail, originated as a product of Matt Snook’s years of writing and developing chilling melodies and candid lyrics. When it was decision-making time about the actual recording, producing, mixing and mastering, Motherseat decided to spare no expense on this crucial step. They sought the highest quality studios available in the Boston area. Frail was mixed at Soundtrack Studios located in downtown Boston. The quality and prestige of Soundtrack Studios is effortless to reveal… just look at their past clients; Aerosmith, Frank Sinatra, Linkin Park, Sheryl Crow, Snoop Dogg, Ozzy Osbourne, etc. Motherseat mastered their disc using the very prominent Gateway Mastering located in Portland, Maine. Gateway Mastering is home to Bob Ludwig, who is one of the most sought after mastering engineers in the nation. Gateway has mastered Grammy winning albums such as Nirvana’s In Utero and Beck’s Odelay.
