NOTIZIE PRINCIPALI
Formed in Boston, Massachusetts, Ript is a four-piece band that hit the scene in 2003. As Michael Granata (vocals) and Paul Granata (guitars) began writing original music in 2002, the creative process had become second nature. Upon the addition of Jim Campbell (drums) and Mike Jeffery (bass) the chemistry was intense and undeniable. The band began to create such diverse and explosive songs at such a rapid pace that after only a few months they were playing shows in and around Boston.
In the spring of 2004 Ript recorded their debut self released album “Altered State.” Recorded at Mix One Studios in Boston, Ript created an album of progressive aggressive rock that submerges itself into the mind of any listener. With clear inspiration ranging from Stone Temple Pilots to Metallica and Led Zeppelin, each song on the album carries its own identity. Whether it is the Stevie Ray Vaughn-esque solo of “Two Sided-Page” to the Black Sabbath overtones of “Reflection” or the Pop rock haven of “If It’s Goodbye”, Ript’s music is a melting pot of classic and modern rock. With lyrical content such as heartbreak, addiction, anger, love and self-truth, Ript tackles subjects that, if you are human, can be related to.
Surrounded by a music scene of detuned guitars and unclear wails and screams, Ript is a breath of rejuvenating rock music. With intelligent song structure, sheering solos (remember those), ground-breaking drums, chest pounding bass, and powerful melodic vocals (remember those too), Ript clearly distinguishes themselves from any act. Each member stays true to their values and would never sacrifice the integrity of their music. Ript is determined and destined to succeed on any stage they set foot on.
