In 2003, after countless auditions, weeding out wilting scenesters, hyperactive crackheads and guys who say "DUDE!" constantly, the line-up of 'in your absence' was cemented. Since then, the band has been making the moody, dark music that's been rattling around their collective heads for years. The songs are dynamic, veering from loud and aggressive to quiet and reflective. 'in your absence' doesn't neatly fit any genre boxes, preferring instead to fuse elements of alternative and indie rock with soft acoustic undercurrents. With a demo CD and a history of successful local shows under their belt, in your absence is currently recording their debut album, slated for an early 2005 release.
