12 Gauge Affinity has been years in the making though the group as a whole did not form until the summer of ’04. Not even into their first year of high school, vocalist/guitarist Christopher Feterowski and guitarist Carl Berens were composing together in the basement of a friend’s house. Eventually parting ways from Carl and the basements of East Bridgewater, Christopher later went on to create with drummer Mike Wood in the Bridgewater based group “Rebirth,” while at the same time, Carl had formed a project with bassist Bryce Beauregard and vocalist Jamie Bunavicz. Years passed, eras died, and Christopher was left trying to form another project. After weeks of persuasion the four musicians began the process of composing. Under the tag “Session-9,” Christopher, Carl, Bryce, and Jamie were unknowingly laying the foundation for what would be “12 Gauge Affinity,” merging progressive alterative rock and emocore with the energy and aggression of post-hardcore. After a separation from their original drummer, the group knew there was only one real choice for a drummer. Mike Wood was brought in for one jam and .12gA was born with an energy and drive that can only be expressed through the stage.
