The Hinterkappeler Manuel Jenni, David Krummen, Benjamin Krebs, Simon Baumgartner and Joel Cappis went to the same school. In summer 2002 those 15 year old ones were jamming together. In this time came Matthias Läng into the band. Then in April 2003 they looked for a bassists, which one was found with Lorenz Gfeller. The band began to work on a small Repetoir. One week before the first small concert, in July 2003, the band began to practice intensively for the first time. This time is considered as establishment of the band. After this first appearance under the name "Oscuro", the band was strengthened by Fabienne Walther and Dominic Schorneck.So the band was completed in the winter 2003/04. A new bandname was found with "Funky Oatmeal". That summer FOM gave eight concerts and learned a ever larger repetoir with more and more self-composed songs.
