With a plethora of talent in this world, on a rare occasion there comes a certain magic, created by an artist or collaborating artists that sets them apart from the rest. Breva is made up of five such artists, musicians whose canvas is adorned with a sound derived from the sum of their influences. Breva with their combined influences have grown to popularity in less than a year. Hailing from Sacramento, CA, Breva formed in 2003. Breva’s music aims straight to the center of solid rock, ringing with heavily melodic songs.
Where they came from is not important, where they are going is significant. The members of Breva have a vast musical background. Close friends from the same small town, tied together by the common desire to play music, yet separated on different paths. A passionate, singer song writer, two guitar players: one overwhelmed by a life of music and school, the other in love with punk-rock, a drummer who found himself hurled into a record contract and national tours, and another guitar player who would eventually take up the responsibilities of the bass guitar.
Seeds were cast in 2000, Andy, Phong, and John, first got together in a garage to emulate the sounds of the their favorite artists. Phong was ascending in musicianship. Andy was happily playing bass, and John was advancing toward a busy schedule...squeezing in practices with his friends when not drumming for the punk band A.D.D. On a parallel path, Tim was involved in a local punk band, while youngster Brandon was still attending pre-kindergarten. With Tim’s band disbanding Phong’s old jam buddy Tim was reeled into the mix to become the second guitarist. The bass was filled by Brandon and the band name slowly emerged. “BREVA” A four-song demo was cut weeks later. The fifth member was finally official, the seed had sprouted.
It was finally time. In October 2004 John left A.D.D. and Phong had graduated from UC Davis. Breva solidified. With recording in focus, Brandon donated his Roland VS 2400. Their latest CD reflects a unique sound, stemming from the seeds set long ago. Six sweaty months of recording in "The Cave" and 11 tracks later, BREVA is finally ready.
In much of today’s screaming hard rock, here comes a melodic rock band with a sound that may remind you of a times past, yet with an edge that will carry Breva into tomorrow. Their guitars compliment Breva’s, strong base line and drums. The vocals bring a dimension to the band that unmistakably sets Breva apart from others. Breva is the product of five friends that have stayed committed to music throughout all the years of school and garage bands. Breva has created a sound to capture the inner feelings. It has been described as music to get lost in. http://www.brevamusic.com or
