NOTIZIE PRINCIPALI
Patchwork Blue is one of Fort Collins, Colorado’s most versatile bands. Equally comfortable performing in an intimate coffee shop setting or rocking with the heaviest bands at the loudest venues, Patchwork Blue, a member of the acoustic rock genre, delivers a true “patchwork” of jazz, funk, Latin, and other styles, with soulful singing and sincere lyrics.

The core of Patchwork Blue was formed in August 2001 with Ryan Edwards on vocals and guitar and brother, Matthew, on bass guitar. After a stint as a quartet with a drummer and a lead guitarist, which yielded the band’s first album “Tremble Roots”, Patchwork Blue settled into a three-piece configuration with guest drummers at different points throughout their career. The ultimate concept that Patchwork Blue has pushed with every new member of the band is to take a rhythm lead approach to their instruments, giving the group a depth of sound more characteristic of a five-piece band.

Patchwork Blue is currently gaining mainstream popularity and recognition in the Colorado area with its highly dynamic live show performances and radio appearances. Currently, the band is promoting the recent release of their new album, “Sobering Lights” with tour stops throughout Colorado and the Western United States. This album draws on several aspects and styles that Patchwork Blue is best known for while allowing past and present fans to appreciate what they’ve come to love about the band. As testament to their rising popularity, in April 2005, Patchwork Blue shared the stage with national performing act, Everclear. (Newspaper article enclosed) Other exciting moments for the group include securing the opening slot at the grand opening of Larimer County’s Budweiser Events Center, making them the first band to perform at “The Ranch.” Patchwork Blue is constantly challenging themselves to push the band to the next level by experimenting with different techniques and instrumentation. No two shows are alike and the group’s dedicated fans, who come back concert after concert, never know exactly what to expect, other than a captivating ride featuring a maturity of songwriting and musical ability that defies their 20-something energy.
