Swooping down on the earth, like a mystical bird of flame, (kaj) provides a rebirth of rock from the ashes of it's predecessors. Driven by a strong vocal presence and melodic guitar riffs and brought together with intense bass undertones and driving rhythmic patterns producing a sound that you aren't likely to forget.

Formed in 2001, (kaj) is a four member modern rock band hailing from the Alle-Kiski Valley of Western Pennsylvania. The band consists of the following members: Brian Shaffer on the mic and acoustic guitar (Kittanning, PA), Curt Costanzo plays lead guitar and sings backing vocals (Ford City, PA), Kris Righi plays bass (Cadogan, PA), and Eric Anthony playing percussion and singing backing/lead vocals (Kittanning, PA).

This quartet sites their influences as ranging from Tool, Staind and Stone Temple Pilots to Alice In Chains, Dream Theater and Nirvana. The four horseman boast their experience and diverse backgrounds through their prior engagements in such bands as: Gibraltar, Timeless Flight, Cheap Seats, The Web, Free Peanuts Band, Distinguished Gentlemen, Common Ground, The Awakening Ritual, Fly, Intolerance, and SunDog.

(kaj) is currently getting great response to their Self-Titled EP at www.unsigned-online.com. Where they had at least 3 songs in the top 10 requested songs recently. "Stranded" has made it to #1 and still remains at the top today! Currently the band is getting ready to release their first full-length cd sometime in January or February of 2005

Through hard work, perserverance, and fan support (kaj) has turned into the musical whirlwind that you hear today. Stomping, talking, breathing... fighting and grinding their way towards their collective fate... The National Arena.
