If creation is first of all an act of destruction, then Daughters of Fission certainly creates music and destroys any preconceived notions of music that you might have. Their emotion-driven sound can breeze in, rupture and roll you, then fulminate in eclectic thunderbolts.

Rather than bore you with the nebulous blah blah of where everyone came from and the various fateful streams that culminated in this raging torrent of a band, we’ll just fill you in on recent events. John, Jason, and Chris have been performing together since 2002 but were never really satisfied with the sound. Something was missing. That something was Stephanie Dilk, who joined Daughters of Fission in October of 2004. In January 2005, now infused with the sediment that nourishes the creative soil, the band entered Mind’s Eye Digital with engineer extraordinaire Larry Elyea and recorded the innovative Abandonatomy, which is now available in Zia Record stores throughout the Phoenix area and at cdbaby.com.
