Eisenbraun & the Geiger Counter
Componenti
NOTIZIE PRINCIPALI
Take the fingerstyle guitar from folk, the catchy melodies, clever hooks & the background vocals from pop, the thesis-driven linear narrative from Walker Percy & Flannery O’Conner, & the budget of punk – turn on the electricity – & you’ve got Eisenbraun & the Geiger Counter.

Joe Eisenbraun, vocals & guitar, has been writing songs & playing the acoustic guitar for 10 years & has almost a dozen solo albums to his name. With the Geiger Counter, his folk tunes have turned pop for the electric version.
Gordon McKinney, vocals, bass, keyboards, & lap steel, a songwriter in his own right, toured extensively with The Aloha Fridays, Kalua Pig, and Gerald Ford Died, and is now known in the St Louis scene from past projects including The Patsies, and the recently defunct The Transmutors.
Robert Eisenbraun, vocals & drums, has been playing percussion for nine years. He launched an aural/visual studio in 2000, which recently turned into Lonely Monster Records. He produced and recorded local band Me & Jane’s first CD, and his own band Electrohome’s CD.

Eisenbraun & the Geiger Counter broke onto the St Louis music scene in December of 2004 & they’re already making headway. The credits so far include a debut performance at Off Broadway, shows at Lemmon’s & The Lemp Neighborhood Arts Center, spots in the Extreme Music Showcase & the Emergenza Music Festival, & a live set & interview on St Louis’ community radio station KDHX.

During the solo years, Eisenbraun wrote, performed, & traveled extensively, receiving support from friends, fans, & community radio at home in St Louis & elsewhere. In 2001, he went solo to the train stations, streets, subways, & living rooms of Paris, Rome, Florence, Venice, Berlin, Basel, Grenoble, Vienna, & Prague.
From July to December of 2003, Joe busked across the United States, putting more than 8000 miles on his '94 Honda: from Boston to Seattle, Vancouver to San Diego, Dallas to Detroit, Los Angeles to Philadelphia, & most of the places in between.

Between the European explorations of 2001 & the American wanderings of 2003, Joe wrote & recorded over 100 songs. With his new St Louis band, Eisenbraun intends to record this spring & hit the road again. And then again. And then again.
