You might say that Fly Upright Kite began in Oregon, where Asad and Holland first played some of the songs that became the groundwork for the band's sound.
Starting out as an acoustic based quintet, Fly Upright Kite was formed as a two acoustic guitar, violin, bass and piano band. By swapping out one of the acoustics for an electric and the piano for drums, FUKite's power pop/rock sound was born.
Fully stringed and hooked, this Boston-based group blends catchy melodies and passionate lyrics with the familiar structures of contemporary pop arrangements, creating music with a captivatingly creative edge.
