First formed by singer songwriter, Iris Mareina and multi-instrumentalist, writer and producer, Rod Shepard, Mistic Rein is a unique, eclectic, independent modern rock band. Based at Xanthi Music Production/Recording Studios in Hoboken, New Jersey, Mistic Rein illustrates elements of multi-ethnic styles and rhythms, while fusing influences of many music genres with their own unique style of rock/pop; stylistically ranging from ska, pop, r&b, to rock..., with an edge, a unique blend of sounds and a lyrical focus.

Mistic Rein has been recognized for numerous performances as well as two CD releases in conjunction with community events produced to raise awareness and funds through original music, creative arts and media resources. They have received airplay abroad as well as nationally, and has performed throughout the Northeast at theaters, colleges, festivals, rock clubs, on college radio and cable television. The group continues to perform at events attracting a variety of ages and ethnic backgrounds.

The group is now promoting their new album, a full length disc called "DejaVoodoo" available now in stores and online (check our growing "stores" page). A collection of songs from "Deja Voodoo" all ranked among the highest in VH1's International Song of the Year Contest, with their song "The One" landing a position in the contest's top 5.
