Porto is a rock band. All original music, which means no silly punk-metal covers of pop songs or another tortured rendition of "Brown Eyed Girl". We like "Brown Eyed Girl", do not like top 40 pop, and have too much respect for our audience to subject them to more of either. Live, local music has seen better days and we want to be part of the solution. That's why we feature an all-male elderly lumberjack interpretive dance troupe (sorry wrong press kit bio).

Porto actually plays an effective brand of hard rock. Raw, sturdy, metal come drum'n'bass come tribal come funk drumming wraps itself around rubbery, slippery, hella big bass lines. Crisp, clipped guitars snap and pop and percolate through verses into snarling choruses. These all come together to urge on the powerful, expansive, heart-on-sleeve, Stacey vocals. Imagine what would happen if 1983 Police formed a super group with 1993 Stone Temple Pilots and hooked up with the bratty love child of Ann Wilson, Chrissie Hynde, and Shirley Manson.
