We started out in September of 2004 and have released our first demo full-length album in four months after starting. We have gathered a very big audience in Frederick, Maryland and played many shows, gaining more and more new fans after our performances. Our style of music is very diverse and unfortunately there isnt a combination of words in the list of available genres to describe what we play. Sometimes we play progressive death metal (bands like lamb of god and meshuggah) sometimes black metal with many influences of classical, jazz, and 70s rock (opeth, agalloch, etc.). Many of our fans describe our performances as expressive, passionate, devastating, and sometimes, "insane." Critical State will be releasing their second full-length album in November of 2005 lasting nearly an hour long with 6 of their new epic songs. If you like our music, please, come out to the first round of Emergenza Festival in Baltimore, at Fletcher's on December 17th, 2005 and support us. CS is going to be playing at 8:30. We love our fans in return for being a very faithful crowd.
