Since October 30th, 2004 - one day before Halloween - there is a band named “Extinction Project” in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. The band was founded by Michael Golinski (Micha), Dennis ter Schmitten (Midget), Sascha Zaubi (Zaubi) and Raphael Altmann (Rapha). Micha and Rapha had been playing together in a band called “H2O H.E.A.D.” before that, Midget played with the “White Trash People”, who were quite popular in the local music scene and Zaubi picked the strings in a band named “EMERGE”. As those band projects seemed to be hopeless to them, they decided to create a new one. After the first practice it was obvious, that this could not be the only one.
In the early days of December, Micha decided not to play the second guitar anymore, because he wanted to concentrate on his vocals. Andy Posdziech (Andy), who was playing with “Los Las Vegas” was the perfect man to fill that gap. After a short session there was no doubt about that - "Extinction Project” was complete.
Concerning the music, Extinction Project try to break new ground. Powerful guitar riffs are combined with melodic elements to create a strong sound with a great atmosphere. The band sets a high value on acting independently and not align on any conventions. Innovation is the key.
