Stickpony has had 6 guitar players, 4 drummers and 3 bass players in the 8 years the band has been around. While one may reasonably draw the conclusion from this that frontman/rhythm guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Brit Jones is a maniacal self-absorbed egotistical monster, nothing could be farther from the truth. The simple fact of the matter seems to be that schizophrenics, junkies, hop-heads, coke-heads, alcoholics, speed freaks and flakes are driven to disguise the existence of their malady and express an apparently sincere interest in playing music to him, and so far he's been duped every time.
While no doubt frustrating for him, it's sure made for some great loud, garagey country music.
The current line-up seems to have broken the cycle and gives the appearance of solidity. Or maybe they're just more clever by half. Time will tell......
