NOTIZIE PRINCIPALI
If I remember correctly, I bought my first guitar approximately a day before our first rehearsal so that would be somewhere in the winter of 2002. Paul, our bassist, had been playing guitar for some years before that but picked up a bass to jam along. We tried a few drummers but it appears we were real jerks because none of them held out with Paul and me. Until Jeff, that is. He was able to spend more then 10 minutes in a room with us - but he's an asshole, himself. So now, by the end of 2002, beginning of 2003 we're 3 happy retards in a band. We christened it Second Base, yet no-one knows why nowadays. Our goal was to make loud noise and annoy everyone who'd hear us. It still is. Kidding.
In the very first year of our existence we recorded a self-titled demo (which is now out of print sadly) with our good friend Bob Demarsin... We sent it to some venues all over Belgium and scored ourselves some gigs. Not that many though.
So, anyway, after the demo, we realised we were actually not that good, so we spent some more time rehearsing, writing songs, petting the one-eyed snake, and not playing so much shows. Until somewhere at the end of 2004. A befriended band, Old Fashion Heroes, suggested doing a split-cd with them, so we kicked into overdrive and started writing songs, and recorded and released them in 2005, with the help from our friends over at Burned Star Records. We'll always refer to that cd as 'the pink one'.
Along the way, we played a shitload of shows around the globe (Belgium, actually), with some pretty kick-ass bands like No Children (ES), Useless ID (ISR), Belvedere (CAN), PO Box (FR), Easyway (POR), Skin Of Tears (GER), Ignite (USA), Burnthe8track (USA), and some awesome Belgian bands like Sixtoys and Five Days Off too... We also appeared on some national compilations.
At the time of writing, December 2005, we're hard at work writing songs for a debut full-cd, planned for release somewhere in the summer of 2006.
All three of us are still at school, but we use about every free second we have for this band and would really like to make a difference, now or soon anyway. Keep checking us out live if you can, and check our website every now and then because I think biographies are lame things and this one will be outdated in a few weeks anyway.
And I’m not good at writing them it seems.
Seeing a band live is what it's all really about. At least, playing live as a band is what it's all about for us so check us out please!
Peace out – for now,
S.
