Uplifted stands for the constant search for improvement at which everything serves to make good songs. To accomplish this, slightly serious lyrics are used. These lyrics mainly relate to personal experiences in daily life.
About two months after the foundation of the band, the first gigs take place. A befriended student audiotechnics approaches Uplifted to come to the SAE studios in Rotterdam. This is a huge opportunity for the band, although it may be too early to jump into a studio.
Uplifted decides to go for it one hundred percent. So by the end of May 2003 the first five songs are recorded. The EP 'Fed from the heart' is a fact.
’Fed from the heart' is a fine first introduction with Uplifted. The band is aware of the minor flaws that are hearable on the EP. Just as the quality of the songs have to be improved in the future. Nevertheless the EP is released with full confidence. Uplifted is very proud of the result. The reviews concerning ‘Fed from the heart’ are positive in general (see included review-page). After the release of the EP Uplifted frequently performed on stage in several venues and youth centers. With its energetic act the band acquires a decent live reputation.
As from the end of 2003 the decision is made to stop planning shows for the time being. New and better material is going to be made. Again, higher goals are set. The new songs are more mature, divers and qualitatively better. Further shows follow and enthusiastic reactions are obtained from the audience.
Post summer 2004 Bart leaves the band because he can’t combine his job with drumming in Uplifted. Fortunately a successor is found very quickly. Jim (ex-Blind Trash and ex-A Brighter Day) is since December the new man for the job. Uplifted decides to rewrite all new material with consideration of Jim’s voice and opinion.
Soon a couple of shows are planned for the year 2005. Uplifted is ready to step up once again in full effect.
